The Shadow Journal is a guided dialogue with our buried Self. Built on Jung’s psychological theory, the Shadow Journal encourages honest reflection through answering a set of 90 questions, helping you embark on a deeper journey of self-discovery.
The so-called shadow is that part of the unconscious which we have not yet lived through, or which we have deeply repressed during our lives. It is an innate or trauma-shaped Self that we reject on ethical, aesthetic, moral, or other individual grounds, and keep suppressed because it contradicts our learned, conscious principles… the inner, universal, human dark side.
The book serves as feedback toward yourself. It can remain yours alone – no one else will see it – but if you share it with a professional and work through it together, it can become an even greater step on the path of self-knowledge and personal growth.
„To confront a person with his shadow is
to show him his own light. Once one has
experienced a few times what it is like to
stand judgingly between the opposites, one
begins to understand what is meant by the
self. Anyone who perceives his shadow and
his light simultaneously sees himself from
two sides and thus gets in the middle.” Carl Jung
Its sibling, SECRET JOURNALS – Light, is coming in English in 2026.
